JLT Community
Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) has the distinction of being the first mixed use free zone community in Dubai . Approximately 40 per cent of the towers have been dedicated for residential use, 35 per cent for exclusive office use, 15 per cent mixed use office and residential towers and the rest as hotels, serviced apartments and other mixes. Four towers within the development will offer hotel facilities, and four towers are earmarked as serviced apartments in part. Retail areas will help enhance the overall community atmosphere with dedicated supermarkets, laundries, restaurants and areas of shopping to service all neighbourhood requirements.
From an architectural viewpoint the distinctiveness of each tower design will provide an individualistic appeal to this community. Offering land as well as some water-based entertainment and recreation opportunities, the development has extensive facilities for shopping, indoor sports and dining.
JLT is located in the most popular district of new Dubai, within easy driving distance to world class golf courses and entertainment venues, such as Ibn Batuta Mall (with its Imax cinema), Wild Wadi and Mall of the Emirates (with its indoor ski-slope). A number of beach resorts are in close proximity for access to beach facilities.
The premier location of the community on Sheikh Zayed Road between Interchange 5 and 6 provides easy access to Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City, Knowledge Village and Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone.
A number of good schools currently exist near JLT, including Delhi Private School (Gardens), Winchester (Gardens), Dubai International Academy (Emirates Hills), Jumeirah English Speaking School (Arabian Ranches), Emirates International School – Meadows (On Meadows Drive, between Meadows 4 and Springs 1), Dubai British School (Junction of Meadows and Springs Drive), Regent School (Adjacent to The Greens).
The closest hospital is the Jebel Ali Hospital (in Jebel Ali Village) with Welcare Ambulatory Center also within a 10-minute drive. A new Isthitmar Hospital is currently under construction right next to the JLT embankment. The airport is situated 30 kms from JLT while the main city centre is just 25 kms away.
